Fast. Affordable HVAC Service.
The heat and humidity are in full swing even though it has only been officially summer for almost a month. We all know how severe the summer months can be in King, NC and how difficult it can be to stay cool. Your air conditioners always work hard for you, especially during the summer. Because of this, energy bills usually skyrocket because your AC unit is working overtime to cool your home down. At A/C Rescue, LLC, we want our customers to take care of the HVAC system the best they can. Here are some tips on how to optimize your air conditioning unit(s) this summer so you can remain comfortable without greatly increasing your energy bill.
Check Your AC Efficiency
When was the last time you had your air conditioner serviced by a qualified and trusted technician? If you can’t remember, the chances are your air conditioner is long overdue for a maintenance checkup. A maintenance checkup ensures that everything is working properly, safely and efficiently. If you have not had one recently, there is no better time than now. If your unit has a broken component or a leak, a maintenance service will identify and fix the problem for you, saving you a good amount of money on your energy bill due to your AC unit overworking to compensate for the damage.
Clean and Clear Your Vents
The air from your heating and air conditioning system flows through your vents. If your vents are blocked or dirty, this limits the airflow that is being produced throughout your home. A piece of furniture, a plant, lamp, etc. could be blocking your vents and preventing the maximum amount of airflow that your home should be receiving. Additionally, if your vents are full or dust, dirt, debris, pet hair, etc., it could also be blocking the air from coming out. Cleaning and clearing your vents will ensure that your system is optimized to push out the amount of air that it is producing.
Turn On Your Fans
Your ceiling and floor fans can have a great impact on your comfort level and energy bill in the summer. Running your fans will not physically lower the temperature in your home, but it does in fact have a “cooling effect”. The fans will help to circulate the cold air in your home and will help to keep the warm air above your fan (if running in a counter clockwise direction).
Replace or Clean Your Air Filters
It is important to consistently change and clean your air filters. This follows the same logic as cleaning your vents. If your filters are dirty or clogged, the air that your AC unit is producing is going to have a difficult time pushing the air through the filter. Make sure you optimize your air conditioner to work as little as possible to produce comfort in your home.
